Enjoy some escapism with this lovely romantic wedding of Jess and James.
These photos made me feel so happy when I saw them. I loved their wedding video too by Gaetano Di Giacomo! I love the romantic feel of the day, the blushed pinks of the bridesmaid’s dresses, the farm tractor, the embroidery which is so personal and a labour of love; there is a feeling of love through the generations of the family which has been beautifully captured by Stephanie & Nicole Photography, of family coming together to celebrate their wedding is really strong. The photo of 3 generations of women really struck a cord with me – maybe I’m feeling even more emotional than usual whilst we are still in lockdown and the simple show of love, like hugs, seem like a distant world away now.
Poundon House is the perfect place for wedding couples looking for a romantic countryside wedding venue as these photos show. Its such a personal and private house, as well as a private home, so family is what we are all about. What a great time Jess and James had on their wedding day. The family feel of Poundon House and its local location and in the countryside is what made them know Poundon House was the right venue for them. As they said, they wanted their wedding day to be all about family and making the most of the time they could spend all together – something which we so value even more now.
The bedrooms that we offer for overnight stay in the house were also important for them as they could then spend more time together. As they are local, they also wanted to work with lots of fabulous local suppliers which made it more environmentally sustainable. Some of whom are on our recommended suppliers list too.
The couple’s love for the countryside is evident from the tractor that they chose to use to arrive from the Church to Poundon House. There is a down to earth feel about their wedding that makes it centre on their love for each other and their family. Exactly what weddings are all about – families coming together and the family that may then follow.
Their engagement reflects their love for romance, as they got engaged in whilst on holiday in Portugal, on a beach as the sun set. So romantic!
Jess’s advise to couples on their wedding day is to make sure that you take 5 minutes out to spend together – this is def something I too advise as the day can whizz by and you need this amazing time together to really share the day – best to make a plan as to where and when to meet! I always suggest the bench near the marquee that looks out to the sunset as a lovely quiet private place to take 5 minutes out!
