Things are certainly starting to feel more festive here now. The Christmas tree, all 15feet of it, is now standing proudly in the hallway, stretching from the floor right up to the top banister. It was impressive enough on it’s own, but looks even better now that it’s been decorated.
This week the main task has been getting the house and the gardens ready for the open day this Saturday.
Just as in summer we mow the lawn more than once, come wintertime we have to collect the fallen leaves more than once. How do you collect leaves when temperatures are below freezing? With warm clothes and perseverance!
With the wedding season over you’d be forgiven for thinking things would be a bit quieter here. But as always at Poundon House there are plenty of jobs to get on with. The recent spate of heavy winds and rain meant that top of the job list was to collect the leaves that had fallen.
